Specimen required:
1 mL aliquot of CSF or synovial fluid; minimum 0.5 mL.
Special notes:
Deliver immediately to Chemistry Stat Lab.
SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Processing instructions:
Centrifuge to remove any cellular material.
Transport temperature:
Refrigerated (preferred) or frozen.
Specimen stability:
Stable 30 minutes at 15-25°C, 24 hours at 2-8°C, 2 months at (-25)–(-15°C).
Rejection criteria:
Stability limits exceeded.
