3 mL lavender-top (K2 EDTA) tube
6 mL pink-top K2 EDTA tube
Specimen required: 

1 mL aliquot of serum or plasma; minimum 0.21 mL.


Special notes: 

Serum separator (SST) or polymer gel separator (PST) tubes are not acceptable.



SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Processing instructions: 

Promptly centrifuge and separate serum or plasma from cells into a plastic screw cap vial (preservative-free).


Transport temperature: 

Refrigerated.


Specimen stability: 

Room Temperature: 30 days. Refrigerated: 30 days. Frozen: 30 days.


Rejection criteria: 

Serum separator (SST) or polymer gel separator (PST) tubes are not acceptable.
