SPECIMEN COLLECTION
Specimen type: 

Whole blood.


Specimen required: 

14 mL whole blood. For Adult patients: If requesting more than one panel for HLA Transplant Testing, no more than 14 mL whole blood collected in EDTA (lavender-top) tubes is required. (minimum volume 5 mL).


Special notes: 

This test is for Bone Marrow Transplants only. Specimens collected in heparin tubes unacceptable.



SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Processing instructions: 

Do not centrifuge. Do not aliquot.


Transport temperature: 

Room temperature.


Specimen stability: 

Room temperature: 14 days.


Rejection criteria: 

Referigerated or frozen specimens are not acceptable. Specimens collected in heparin tubes unacceptable.
