SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Processing instructions: 

Allow to clot. Centrifuge 10 minutes at 3000 rpm.


Transport temperature: 

Refrigerated (preferred). Room temperature or frozen specimen also acceptable.


Specimen stability: 

Room temperature: 4 days. Refrigerated: 1 week. Frozen: 1 month.


Rejection criteria: 

CSF and body fluids are not acceptable. Stability limits exceeded.

M. pneumoniae IgM AB: 
Negative: < 770 U/mL
Low positive: 770-959 U/mL
Positive: > 950 U/mL
