SPECIMEN COLLECTION
Specimen type: 

Bone marrow, fresh tissue, lymph node, chorionic villi, amniotic fluid, or whole blood.


Preferred collection container: 
Specimen required: 

Minimum 3-5 mL whole blood in green-top sodium heparin tube OR minimum 1-3 mL bone marrow in culture transport medium (preferred) or green-top sodium heparin tube; OR 40 mg (min 20 mg) chorionic villi submitted in sterile container with Hanks' or Ringer's Solution; OR 20 mL fresh amniotic fluid submitted in sterile, non-toxic centrifuge tubes room temperature; OR 2 x 3 mm fresh tissue, submitted in a sterile container with Hanks' or Ringer's solution; OR 5 x 5 mm fresh lymph node submitted in culture transport medium.



SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Transport temperature: 

Lymph Node and Fresh Tissue/Lymph Node: Refrigerated. 
Bone Marrow, Whole Blood, Chronic Villi, and Amniotic Fluid: Room Temperature.


Rejection criteria: 

Frozen specimen.
