Additional information: 

Approximately 0.5 mL of duodenal fluid is necessary to perform the total enzyme analysis. The fluid must have a pH of 6.5 or above at the time of collection. A lower pH suggests gastric contamination, which will irreversibly destroy the enzyme activities.
