Preferred collection container: 
Specimen required: 

1.5 mL serum; minimum 0.5 mL.


Patient preparation: 

Draw 30 to 60 minute prior to next dose.



SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Processing instructions: 

Allow serum to clot. Centrifuge to separate serum within 8 hours of collection. Remove serum from cells.


Transport temperature: 

Refrigerated.


Specimen stability: 

Refrigerated: 7 days. Frozen: 30 days.


Rejection criteria: 

Stability limits exceeded.
