Specimen required:
Nematode, cestode, trematode or other parasite submitted in a sterile, leak-proof container or 10% formalin container.
Special notes:
Submit tapeworm in saline and other parasites in 70% alcohol as soon as possible. Specify specimen source on test request form and specimen container. Do not send stool.

Room temperature.
Specimen stability:
Room temperature: 60 days. Refrigerated: 60 days. Frozen: Unacceptable.
Rejection criteria:
Stool not acceptable.
