24-hour urine container (no preservative)
Acid-washed container
Specimen required: 

Preferred: 10 mL random (minimum 2 mL) urine collected in a sterile, leak-proof container - no preservative. Alternate: 10 mL (minimum 2 mL) of an unpreserved 24-hour urine, submitted in an acid-washed, metal-free container


Special notes: 

Collect urine without preservatives.

Transport temperature: 

Room temperature.


Specimen stability: 

Room temperature: 10 days. Refrigerated: 10 days. Frozen: Unacceptable.


Rejection criteria: 

Frozen specimen unacceptable.
