SPECIMEN COLLECTION
Specimen type: 

Platelet-poor plasma


Preferred collection container: 
Specimen required: 

1 mL platelet-poor plasma collected in each of four separate 3.2% sodium citrate (light blue-top) tubes


Special notes: 

Collect blood before coagulation factor replacement therapy is begun. Refer to Quest's coagulation specimen collection and processing instructions for further information.



SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Processing instructions: 

Please submit a separate, frozen vial for each special coagulation assay ordered. Refer to Quest's coagulation specimen collection and processing instructions for further information.


Transport temperature: 

Frozen. Transport 4 separate frozen vials in the same shipping container.


Specimen stability: 

Room temperature: Unacceptable. Refrigerated: Unacceptable. Frozen: 14 days.


Rejection criteria: 

Room temperature or refrigerated specimen.
