HELICOBACTER PYLORI, CULTURE WITH REFLEX TO SUSCEPTIBILITY
Geisinger Epic Procedure Code: LAB1117 Geisinger Epic ID: 523933 mm gastric/antral or duodenal biopsy collected in Trypticase Soy Broth (TSB) with 10-20% glycerol
Preferred: Broth with glycerol any amount.
Acceptable: Broth with or without glycerol, 2-8° C, any amount.
Refrigerated to Referred Testing. (Referred Testing to store and ship specimens with glycerol at -70°C.)
Specimens with glycerol: Room temperature: Unacceptable. Refrigerated: 48 hours. Frozen -20° C: Unacceptable. Frozen -70°C: 5 days.
All other specimens: Room temperature: Unacceptable. Refrigerated: 48 hours. Frozen: Unacceptable.
