Two (2) urine aliquots must be submitted. They must both be aliquoted into the two (2) urine aliquot containers supplied in the Quest Diagnostics Kit. Patients with more than one kit require a set of aliquot bottles from each collection jug.

For High Urine Output: Patient with a high urine output (greater than 3.8 L) will require more than one large container. Collect urine in the first container until it is 3/4 full and then begin filling the second container to complete the 24-hour collection. Carefully fill a set of the supplied aliquot bottles for each jug and mark one as box 1 of 2 and the other box 2 of 2.
These urines need to be processed immediately upon receipt. Vigorously mix the 24-hour urine collection by shaking the jug for a full 60 seconds. After 60 seconds of vigorous shaking, pour the urine into the two aliqout bottles provided with the kit. Be careful not to mix up the lids from each bottle. The two bottles are unique and must have the correct lid placed back onto them.
Refrigerated.
Room Temperature: 10 days. Refrigerated: 10 days. Frozen: Unacceptable.
