Serum (preferred) or plasma

3 mL lavender-top (K2 EDTA) tube
6 mL pink-top K2 EDTA tube
Specimen required: 

3 mL serum or EDTA plasma (minimum 1 mL, does not allow for repeat testing)



SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Processing instructions: 

Allow to clot, centrifuge within 2 hours of collection. Store frozen.


Transport temperature: 

Frozen.


Specimen stability: 

Room Temperature: 14 days. Refrigerated: 14 days. Frozen: 14 days.


Rejection criteria: 

Gross hemolysis; gross lipemia.
