12/17/2024 This assay detects Filaria IgG4 subclass antibody to enhance specificity without sacrifice of sensitivity. It can identify patients with Filarial infections caused by D. immitis, W. bancrofti, B. malayi and O. volvulus. Chronic infections manifesting as elephantiasis may not result in a significant IgG4 antibody response and cannot be ruled out by this test.
