Additional information:

Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) is calculated based on 2012 CKD-EPI Cystatin C equation. EGFR Calculator | National Kidney Foundation. eGFR >=60 mL/min is considered normal in most case.

CPT code(s):  82610

Test includes:

Cystatin C with Estimated GFR

Methodology:
Immunoturbidity
Synonyms:

CysC

Clinical significance:

Serum cystatin C is useful in the evaluation of kidney function. Unlike creatinine, it is independent from muscle mass and gender. An estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) will accompany all serum or plasma cystatin C results.
