3 mL plain red-top (non-serum separator) tube
Specimen required: 

2 mL EDTA plasma or serum, Minimum 0.6 mL.



SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Processing instructions: 

Centrifuge and aliquot serum or plasma from whole blood within 24 hours of collection.


Transport temperature: 

Refrigerated (cold packs).


Specimen stability: 

Room temperature: 72 hours. Refrigerated: 14 days. Frozen: 30 days.


Rejection criteria: 

Gross hemolysis • Grossly lipemic • Unspun PPT tube • Specimens collected using heparin as anticoagulant • Unspun serum separator tube (SST) • Unspun red-top tube (no gel) • Received room temperature.
