SPECIMEN COLLECTION
Specimen type: 

Serum (preferred) or plasma


Preferred collection container: 
Alternate collection container: 
6 mL dark blue-top (trace element, no additive) tube
3 mL lavender-top (K2 EDTA) tube
6 mL pink-top K2 EDTA tube
Specimen required: 

2 mL aliquot of serum or plasma; minimum 1 mL.


Special notes: 

A Laboratory appt is required for this test.  Patients can only be collected at Geisinger Bloomsburg and Buckhorn lab.  Payment in full is due at the time of appointment.  Appt can be made by calling 570-293-7223
Sample collection devices coated with PTFE/Teflon(R) and PVDF should be avoided because of potential specimen contamination.
