SPECIMEN COLLECTION

Serum or plasma


Specimen required: 

2 mL aliquot of serum or plasma; minimum 0.7 mL.


Special notes: 

Do not collect in serum separator tubes or plasma separator tubes.



SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Processing instructions: 

Centrifuge 10 minutes at 3000 rpm.


Transport temperature: 

Room temperature (preferred). Refrigerated or frozen specimen also acceptable.


Specimen stability: 

Room Temperature: 7 days. Refrigerated: 14 days. Frozen: 5 months (-20°C).


Rejection criteria: 

Stability limits exceeded. Specimen collected in serum separator or plasma separator tube.
