SPECIMEN COLLECTION
Specimen type: 

Serum or plasma


Preferred collection container: 
Specimen required: 

2 mL aliquot of serum or plasma; minimum 1.2 mL.


Special notes: 

Do not use serum separator tubes.



SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Processing instructions: 

Allow serum to clot. Centrifuge serum or plasma 10 minutes at 3000 rpm.


Transport temperature: 

Room temperature (preferred). Refrigerated or frozen specimen also acceptable.


Specimen stability: 

Room Temperature: 2 weeks. Refrigerated: 2 weeks. Frozen: 10 months (-20°C).


Rejection criteria: 

Stability limits exceeded. Specimen collected in serum separator tubes.
