SPECIMEN COLLECTION
Specimen type: 

Plasma or Serum


Preferred collection container: 
Specimen required: 

2 mL or serum or plasma; minimum 0.7 mL.



SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Processing instructions: 

Allow serum to clot. Centrifuge to separate serum or plasma within 2 hours of collection. Keep specimen container tightly capped.


Transport temperature: 

Refrigerated.


Specimen stability: 

Plasma (PST): Glucose stable 4 hours at room temperature, 8 hours refrigerated. Potassium, AST, ALKP, ALT stable 12 hours at room temperature or refrigerated. See individual member listing for more details.
