SPECIMEN COLLECTION
Specimen type: 

Serum or plasma


Specimen required: 

1 mL aliquot of serum or plasma; minimum 0.4 mL. Please submit a separate frozen aliquot for this test. It may not be combined with any other test requiring a frozen aliquot.


Special notes: 

Do not use serum separator tube (SST). Collect as trough prior to next dose.



SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Processing instructions: 

Allow blood to clot. Centrifuge and immediately separate serum or plasma specimens from the cells into clean, plastic, screw-capped vial(s). Freeze and ship frozen. Specimens must be kept frozen. If specimens are not kept frozen, this may cause lower or negative result values.


Transport temperature: 

Frozen.


Specimen stability: 

Frozen: 1 month (-20°C).


Rejection criteria: 

Room temperature and refrigerated specimens unstable and will be rejected. Serum separator tubes not acceptable.
