SPECIMEN COLLECTION
Specimen type: 

Whole Blood


Preferred collection container: 
Specimen required: 

2 mL EDTA whole blood; minimum 1 mL


Special notes: 

Do not collect in gel barrier tubes.


Patient preparation: 

Optimal time to draw specimen is 1/2 to 1 hour before next oral dose.



SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Processing instructions: 

Do not centrifuge.


Transport temperature: 

Refrigerated (preferred). Room temperature or frozen specimen also acceptable.


Specimen stability: 

Room Temperature: 5 days. Refrigerated: 1 week. Frozen: 1 month.


Rejection criteria: 

Clotted or gel barrier tubes.



TEST DETAILS
Reference interval: 

Trough 3.0-18.0 ng/mL. Result is determined by Liquid Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry - Mass Spectrometry technique, and may be different from results obtained using other methodologies.
