SPECIMEN COLLECTION
Specimen type:
Serum (preferred) or plasma

6 mL pink-top K2 EDTA tube
Specimen required:
3 mL serum or plasma; minimum 1.2 mL. Please submit a separate frozen aliquot for this test. It may not be combined with any other test requiring a frozen aliquot.
Special notes:
Do not draw serum in serum separator tubes (SST). Draw sample 1/2 to 1 hour before next dose.

SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Specimen processing instructions:
Allows serum to clot. Centrifuge serum or plasma 10 minutes at 3000 rpm and submit 3 mL aliquot serum or plasma. 
Transport temperature:
Room temperature (preferred). Refrigerated or frozen specimen also acceptable.
Specimen stability:
Room Temperature: 1 week. Refrigerated: 2 weeks. Frozen: 1 year.
Rejection criteria:
Serum separator tubes not acceptable. Stability limits exceeded.
