Clinical significance: |
The IgVH gene mutation status of a B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) clone present in this sample was determined by PCR-based Sanger DNA sequencing, following reverse transcription of extracted nucleic acid. In CLL cases with unmutated IgVH gene, patients usually have more aggressive disease and shorter survival compared to those with mutated IgVH. Specimens in which the CLL clone comprises less than 25% of total B cells may not yield an interpretable result. | |
