Preferred collection container:	QF Gold Collection Kit
Specimen required:	FULL 6 mL lithium heparin whole blood; minimum 6 mL.
Special notes:	The specimen must be collected in the 6 mL Quantiferon gold kits provided by the reference lab and returned to our lab in the bag the tube comes in. The 6 mL tube must be COMPLETELY FULL to perform testing. The test has a short stability and should be sent to the laboratory as soon as possible.
SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Specimen processing instructions:	COMPLETELY FULL 6 mL whole blood tube must be given to Referred in the QFgold bags provided with the tube.
Transport temperature:	Specimen must be kept at room temperature for 15 minutes up to 3 hours, then must be refrigerated.
Specimen stability:	Refrigerated: 48 hours.
Rejection criteria:	Stability limits exceeded. Specimen volume less than 6 mL.
