Serum (preferred). Plasma collected in plasma separator tube (PST) also acceptable.

3 mL green/yellow-top (plasma separator) tube
Specimen required:
2 mL aliquot of serum (preferred) or plasma; minimum 0.5 mL.

SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Specimen processing instructions:
Allow serum to clot. Centrifuge to separate serum or plasma within 2 hours of collection. 
Transport temperature:
Refrigerated (preferred) or frozen.
Specimen stability:
Refrigerated: 2 days. Frozen: 2 months.
Rejection criteria:
Stability limits exceeded.
