This test provides a numerical eGFR for patients at risk for kidney disease at < 60 mL/min. Higher values are reported as “> 60 mL/min.”
Alert limits:
See individual member listing.
Additional information:
Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) is calculated from the patient’s measured serum creatinine and the patient’s age and sex using the MDRD formula recommended by the National Kidney Foundation. The test is not orderable as a stand alone test but is reported with serum creatinine (CREATB), basic metabolic panel (LBGC), comprehensive panel (COMPR), and renal function panel (RFB).
CPT code(s):
80053
Note: The billing party has sole responsibility for CPT coding.  Any questions regarding coding should be directed to the payer being billed.  The CPT codes provided by GML are based on AMA guidelines and are for informational purposes only.
Test includes:
BUN, sodium, potassium, chloride, glucose, creatinine, albumin, ALT, AST, alkaline phosphatase, total bilirubin, calcium, total protein, CO2, estimated GFR, anion gap
