Specimen type:	Fresh, unfixed tissue.
Preferred collection container:	Non-sterile specimen container
Specimen required:	Fresh, unfixed tissue on slightly moistened, not wet, saline Telfa pad in a non-sterile container. Do NOT submerge tissue in saline.
SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Specimen processing instructions:	For off-campus specimens: Place the gauze and muscle in a waterproof plastic bag. Seal bag tightly. Place the bag in a Styrofoam container which is packed in wet ice. Pack wet ice (not dry) around outside of specimen container but be sure no ice water gets into the container with the specimen. Contact Client Services at 1-800-695-6491 to arrange for stat transportation.
Transport temperature:	Ship packed in wet ice.
