0.3 mL serum; minimum 0.1 mL
Special notes:
No anticoagulants or preservatives should be added. Avoid using sera exhibiting a high level of lipemia, hemolysis, icterus, or microbial growth. These conditions may cause aberrant test results. Do not use heat-inactivated serum as this affects test results. Blood should be collected fasting for at least one hour after meals to avoid lipemic serum.
Patient preparation:
Fasting sample preferred.

Room temperature: 4 days. Refrigerated: 7 days. Frozen: 28 days.
