Preferred specimen is a 7 mL aliquot of 24-hour urine collected without preservative. Urine preserved with 25 ml of 50% acetic acid or 30 ml 6N HCl during collection is also acceptable. Mix well. Estimate total collection volume from 24-hour urine container. Remove required aliquot. Record total volume on both aliquot tube and request slip (if applicable). | |
